Company History

Our history began with our founder, Harold T. Anderson, who imported and distributed a few select specialty food items, such as olives, canned seafood, and confections, to upscale department stores and boutique specialty shops in the metro Philadelphia area from a 10,000 square foot building in Medford, New Jersey. With an outstanding focus on customer satisfaction, product selection, business ethics, and service option versatility, Haddon House Food Products has continued to grow and prosper since its inception. Since then, the company has expanded in the United States and abroad with an assortment of more than 20,000 specialty, natural, organic, kosher, and ethnic food products. This growth will continue after the 2016 acquisition of Haddon House by United Natural Foods, Inc.

Haddon House Food Products contributes much of our continued success to our associates, who through the guidance and tutelage of the Anderson Family, maintain a shared vision for the future of our company. Although Haddon House has blossomed, the Haddon House corporate office remains in the original location nestled away in rural Medford, New Jersey. Harold Anderson’s legacy continues through the leadership of his son, David Anderson and his grandson, David Anderson, Jr., President of Haddon House Specialty Foods.
